Pro S4’s revamped GUI includes a greyscale aesthetic for improved visibility and a simplified master clock section. In addition, the German company designed a new program built on the Traktor Pro engine called Traktor Pro S4, which specifically integrates with the Kontrol S4 for tight, smooth operation. What made the Kontrol S4 so exciting is that it’s the first 4-deck controller built by Native Instruments for its popular Traktor Pro platform. By not trying to be all things to all DJs, they’ve designed a system that may not be exactly what you want, but is closer to it than anything else this year. Native Instruments has delivered on its promise to create an all-in-one 4-deck Traktor Pro system with admirable software/hardware integration, a nod to the burgeoning controllerist community, and a soundcard that’s actually worth using. Not compatible with DVS systems yet (NI says this is coming soon). Big-time cue point juggler and button mashing controllerists will probably still want a supplemental “grid” controller. Operating on USB bus power alone is not recommended due to dim LEDs. No price break yet for licensed Traktor Pro users. Two analog inputs and excellent Audio 4 DJ-like sound quality. MIDI compatibility for other gear and software, but much higher resolution control between the hardware and Traktor Pro S4. Comes with Traktor Pro S4 with new Sample Decks and Loop Recorder. Let’s find out where the S4 lives up to the hype, and where it may fall a bit short.Įditor’s Note: The Kontrol S4 was updated in September, 2013. Native Instruments’ first all-in-one, 4-channel controller/soundcard for Traktor Pro comes with the specialized Traktor Pro S4 software, as well as some lofty expectations. Sorry for the long post.Time to exhale the Traktor Kontrol S4 four-deck controller for Traktor Pro is here, and DJ Tech Tools has a full review. **I have both RCA to 3.5mm and 1/4" to 3.5mm cables and have tried routing both and still getting nothing. In the volume controller, there is only one headphone hole. The way the Logitech speakers are set up (one subwoofer, 2 speakers) and in order to work, only allow me to connect the speakers directly to the subwoofer, while the subwoofer has an additional cable with a volume controller halfway and a 3.5mm jack on the other end to connect to my laptop. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it! I have tried everything I can think of to no avail. Likewise, if I adjust the audio settings for Traktor to play my tracks through my laptop speakers, I can only hear both tracks playing through there. In other words, If I play the first track through my headphones, the cued track is also playing in my headphones, not through the Logitech's OR my computer speakers. Now I am having difficulty getting Traktor to detect these speakers (maybe due to the way they are set up).īecause I cant get the speakers to work, I am unable to cue a track while there is already one playing. I recently purchased a Traktor Kontrol S4 and am currently in the process of getting new monitors but am trying to make use of my Logitech Z313's (standard laptop/computer speakers) in the meantime. Hello everyone, I am new to the site and was looking for somebody to help me troubleshoot my problem.
